The reason behind the triumph of the Moleskine brand is its incredible ideology - whilst other brands make notebooks designed to "match" its owner's character Moleskine makes notebooks which have no character at all. Like a blank page. But the paradox is that it's the only proper way of matching the characters of the majority of people around the world. People like to fill blank pages - the same applies to Moleskine, and a blank notebook ends up being personalized by its owner until it fully reflects his inner world - it becomes a part of him. That's what we call a triumph of personality. And that was the concept for the upcoming Moleskine campaign. What's the most important part of it? It's not the design, it's not the quality - it's the owner who makes a Moleskine notebook unique. At this point the claim had already become clear to us - "Moleskine is the person behind it". The graphic part was to emphasize the idea transmitted by the slogan. So we’ve decided to make a step away from the typical depiction of a "shiny new product" the consumer is willing to pay for and make a series of photorealistic montages depicting a single Moleskine notebook we all are familiar with, but used by people - like you and me. The result lets you almost guess the owners' faces by looking at them. It gives the viewer an idea of what the true role of a notebook is and why Moleskine notebooks cope with it better than others.
